Elixir converts archives stored in obsolete formats to
current formats, enabling organizations to gain access to
their archived information. Older archiving systems are
noteworthy for serious failings, including, proprietary data
formats, missing data interfaces, obsolete backup media, and
high support costs. Archival systems based on optical media
are rapidly becoming obsolete for physical and technical
reasons. Finally, most older archival systems cannot meet
