A message from the CEO, Elixir Technologies Corporation on wildfire disaster in Southern California.
The week of December 4, 2017 the Thomas fire swept through Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, burning over 230,00 acres and displacing thousands of families. Elixir has been very fortunate to emerge from this natural disaster with minimal impact to our operations. Although some of our employees were forced to evacuate and the fire threatened our Ojai corporate headquarters, everyone is safe and our office is undamaged. Moreover, the fire has not compromised our ability to serve our customers, due in large part to the successful deployment of our business continuity and disaster recovery plans and the preparation and teamwork of our staff.
Elixir ensures all our solutions and services are coordinated to meet the requirements and contingencies of highly-regulated industries in global markets. Risk management, governance, compliance, and disaster recovery are foundational to Elixir, and our global presence provides resilience to cope with major events and serve our customers in all time zones and locations. We have invested substantial resources in developing a robust contingency plan that includes business continuity and disaster recovery. Elixir tests its contingency plans using real-world scenarios and functional exercises on an annual basis, and successfully deployed backup strategies rapidly to ensure the continuity of essential business functions during the Thomas fire. We are committed to a process of continuous improvement and will apply the lessons we have learned from this situation to refine our business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Elixir will continue to provide timely support to our customers during this situation. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you. Happy holidays to you and your families.
